Online Home Library management

About

My wife Christina and I developed the online webservice called GuruLib (http://www.gurulib.com) to help organize our home library. Over the months GuruLib has grown in popularity and has attracted good and bad crowds. My previous blog maintained on my site was viciously attacked by spammers that I had to shut it down and move to wordpress.

GuruLib is an online home library management software that catalogs books, movies, music, games and software online. All relevant cataloging information are fetched from either 530 public and university libararies around the world or from the 6 amazon servers. In addition to cataloging service, GuruLib helps to keep track of your borrowed books, movies etc. You can configure GuruLib to keep track of the price of your wish list items. A library appraisal feature provides an estimation of your home libraries worth which may help you in bragging rights or for insurance purposes in case of any damage or theft. You can checkout our home library cataloged under http://www.gurulib.com/coolabcgirl

  1. Heya,

This looks great. I spent a huge amount of time last year researching cataloging software and customizing/template setup/scripts just to get a free book collection software to keep track of my books and export to a decent website format. On top of that manually entering all my video game collection.

Your work and final product are greatly appreciated. It will make my obsessive cataloging so much easier.

    *cheers*

  2. My library has turned into HTML code. I can’t read any of the titles I added.

  3. We were updating some bug fixes during that time. Please try that now. Let us know if that problem still persists.

Happy to hear that GuruLib is helping you. Let us know if we could improve the service to feed your obsessive behavior 🙂
